Payment Gateway Fees in Qatar (2026): Published Rates for SADAD, Dibsy, Fatora, SkipCash and QPay

*Last reviewed 13 October 2026. Fees are copied from the providers' pages on that date, with sources at the end. Where a provider publishes no fee we say "not published" rather than guess. Fees change, and approval always rests with the gateway and the bank.*

Most guides to payment gateways in Qatar list the names and skip the numbers. This one does the opposite: one table with every published fee, then the arithmetic on real monthly sales, then what providers ask for before activation, then links to the detailed comparison of each gateway with ThreeU.

The short answer

  • Most transparent: SADAD publishes everything: NAPS 1.1% in person, local cards 2.2% + QAR 0.5, online 2.5% with a QAR 2.5 minimum, and an online gateway from QAR 99/month.
  • Simplest arithmetic: Dibsy at 2.5% + QAR 1 per successful transaction with no setup and no monthly fee.
  • Flat subscription: Fatora at QAR 300/month or QAR 1,500/year for its professional plan (store, invoices and payments), with transaction fees not published.
  • Not published: SkipCash, Tess, QPay (through your bank) and regional providers (MyFatoorah, Tap, Amazon Payment Services) price by quote.
  • The rule: compare fees on your own sales, not on a headline percentage; a store with an average basket of QAR 80 is hit harder by minimums and fixed fees than by the percentage.

Published fee table (October 2026)

| Gateway | Published transaction fees | Fixed fees | Notes | |---|---|---|---| | SADAD | In person: NAPS debit 1.1% · local Visa/Mastercard 2.2% + QAR 0.5 · Apple Pay and Google Pay same as cards · co-branded business cards 2.5% · international 3% · refunds free. Online: 2.5% with a QAR 2.5 minimum | Payment gateway QAR 99/month (standard API) · QAR 149 (hosted checkout) · QAR 199 (advanced API), 20% off on annual plans · payment links to Qatari numbers free · international links QAR 99/month · Smart Store free up to 25 products, then QAR 99/month · POS terminal: QAR 399 setup + QAR 1,000 deposit refunded after six months · SoftPOS with no upfront cost | Longest-established, most widely licensed, every fee in writing | | Dibsy | 2.5% + QAR 1 per successful transaction | No setup, no monthly fee | Clearest arithmetic for a small store; supports Visa, Mastercard, NAPS and Apple Pay | | Fatora | Not published (may apply depending on payment method) | Free up to 10 invoices and orders without online payment · Professional QAR 300/month or QAR 1,500/year · Premium by quote | Store, invoices and payment links in one subscription | | SkipCash | Not published in detail | Quote | Qatari app, wallet and payment links, fast to activate | | Tess | Not published | Quote | Qatari merchant gateway | | QPay (through QNB and other banks) | Per your bank agreement | Per bank | The bank's gateway for settlement into the same account | | MyFatoorah · Tap · Amazon Payment Services | Regional, by quote or by country | Quote | Merchants selling in more than one GCC country |

The arithmetic on real sales

An online store selling QAR 20,000 a month across 250 orders (average basket QAR 80):

  • Dibsy: 2.5% = QAR 500 plus 250 × QAR 1 = QAR 250, about QAR 750 with no subscription.
  • SADAD (standard API gateway): 2.5% = QAR 500 (the QAR 2.5 minimum does not bite at an QAR 80 basket) plus QAR 99 subscription, about QAR 599, and 20% less on the subscription if paid annually.
  • Fatora: QAR 300 subscription plus unpublished transaction fees; get them in writing before comparing.
  • A physical shop taking QAR 20,000 by card through SADAD: QAR 220 if all NAPS, about QAR 440 plus QAR 0.5 per transaction if all Visa and Mastercard.

The lesson: the smaller the basket, the more the fixed fee (QAR 1 at Dibsy) and the minimum (QAR 2.5 at SADAD) matter; the larger the sales, the cheaper a monthly subscription becomes compared with a per-transaction fixed fee.

Three tools merchants confuse: a payment gateway is embedded in your store so the customer pays inside the checkout (at SADAD from QAR 99/month plus a percentage). Payment links are sent over WhatsApp or Instagram without a store (free to Qatari numbers at SADAD, with the percentage per transaction). SoftPOS turns a staff phone into a card terminal for in-person sales with no upfront cost. Small stores usually start with links and move to a gateway as orders grow; see payment links in Qatar.

What providers ask for before activation

  • A commercial registration and valid licence, and for online sales without premises the e-commerce licence under Ministerial Decision 25 of 2026. See e-commerce licensing in Qatar.
  • A bank account in the company's name. See opening a company bank account.
  • A working website or store: refund, privacy and contact pages, clear prices and a security certificate. The provider reviews your store before approving.
  • Some activities (instalments, high-value goods, financial services) face extra review or refusal.

Which gateway for which business?

  • Online store with small baskets (under QAR 100): compare Dibsy with no subscription against SADAD's gateway at QAR 99; the break-even is around 100 orders a month.
  • Physical shop taking cards: the NAPS rate is the decisive number (1.1% at SADAD); ask for it first.
  • Selling on WhatsApp and Instagram without a website: payment links first, with the e-commerce licence because the provider will ask for it.
  • Large baskets (furniture, jewellery, electronics): ask about instalments; see PayLater and the BNPL guide for Qatar merchants.
  • Selling in more than one GCC country: one regional provider settles more simply than a gateway per country.

Five questions before you choose

1. What are the real fees on my average basket (percentage, fixed and minimum)? 2. Is there a monthly or setup fee, and is it worth it at my sales volume? 3. When is money settled to my account? 4. Does it support NAPS, Apple Pay and payment links over WhatsApp? 5. Does it integrate with my store and POS without custom development?

FAQ

What is the cheapest payment gateway in Qatar? It depends on your basket: for small baskets and limited sales, Dibsy with no subscription; for larger sales, SADAD's gateway at QAR 99/month with no fixed fee per transaction. Calculate on your own numbers.

Do I need a licence to get a payment gateway? Yes: a commercial registration and licence, the e-commerce licence for online sales without premises, and a bank account in the company's name.

How long does approval take? Days to weeks depending on complete documents and a ready store; a store with its policy pages in place is approved faster.

Does ThreeU take a commission on payments? No. The subscription is flat and the fees go to the gateway you choose.
