Connecting SADAD, SkipCash or Tess to Your Store and POS in Qatar (2026): Requirements, Steps and Fees

*Last reviewed 20 October 2026. Fees and steps are taken from the gateways' official pages on that date, with sources at the end. Activation is always the gateway's and the bank's decision.*

You want to connect SADAD, SkipCash or Tess to your online store or POS so you can accept NAPS debit cards, Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard. Most of what you will find is each gateway's own page about itself. This guide brings the three together: what each provider asks for before activation, how the connection to a store or POS works, the published fees, and which gateway suits which business.

The short answer

  • The requirements are almost the same: a valid commercial registration and licence (plus the e-commerce licence for selling without premises), a bank account in the company's name, and a working store with policy pages.
  • SADAD has the clearest fees: NAPS 1.1% in person, local cards 2.2% + QAR 0.5, online 2.5% with a QAR 2.5 minimum, an online gateway from QAR 99/month, and free payment links to Qatari numbers.
  • SkipCash and Tess do not publish detailed fees; ask for a written quote.
  • The technical connection needs no developer if your store runs on a platform with an official integration; at ThreeU it is enabled from the app marketplace with the policy pages built in.

Before connecting: what the gateway asks for

| Requirement | Why | Where to start | |---|---|---| | Commercial registration and activity licence | Business identity | Commercial registration in Qatar | | E-commerce licence (selling without premises or through social accounts) | Decision 25 of 2026 | E-commerce licence in Qatar | | Bank account in the company's name | Settlement does not go to personal accounts | Opening a company bank account | | A working store with refund, privacy and contact pages and clear prices | The gateway reviews your store before approval | ThreeU templates include them | | Description of the activity | Some activities get extra review | — |

SADAD: steps and fees

1. Register through the SADAD app or website, choose "become a merchant", and complete the business details and documents. 2. After activation, open the control panel (panel.sadad.qa) and go to SADAD services: online gateway, payment links, smart store, or POS terminals. 3. Choose a gateway plan: QAR 99/month (standard API), QAR 149 (hosted checkout page), QAR 199 (advanced API), with 20% off annually. 4. Connect your store: from your platform's app marketplace if it supports SADAD, or through a developer using merchant keys. 5. Run a test transaction and a test refund before launch. Published fees: in person NAPS 1.1%, local Visa and Mastercard 2.2% + QAR 0.5, business cards 2.5%, international 3%, refunds free; online 2.5% with a QAR 2.5 minimum; payment links to Qatari numbers free; POS terminal with QAR 399 setup, a QAR 1,000 deposit refunded after six months and a monthly device subscription; SoftPOS with no upfront cost. Detailed comparison: SADAD and ThreeU.

SkipCash: steps

1. Register as a merchant through the SkipCash site or app and submit business documents. 2. After approval you receive the merchant portal and integration keys. 3. Connect your store through your platform's official integration or a developer, and test a transaction. Fees: not published in detail; ask for them in writing. Tess: steps

1. Submit a merchant application with business documents. 2. Receive integration details after approval. 3. Connect from your platform and test a transaction. Fees: by quote. Comparison in Tess and ThreeU.

Which gateway for which business?

  • A physical shop taking cards: the NAPS rate is the decisive number (1.1% at SADAD).
  • An online store with small baskets: compare a gateway subscription with a no-subscription option such as Dibsy (2.5% + QAR 1); payment gateway fees in Qatar.
  • Selling on WhatsApp and Instagram without a website: payment links first (free to Qatari numbers at SADAD); payment links in Qatar.
  • Apple Pay: how to accept it in your store.

Connecting the POS, not only the store

In-shop payments need the POS to record the transaction, print the invoice and settle into the same account. Ask your POS vendor: is the terminal integrated with the POS (the transaction records automatically) or separate (the employee types the amount twice)? And what are the fees per transaction? Compare cashiers in best POS systems in Qatar.

Mistakes that delay activation by weeks

  • Applying before the licence is issued, or with a personal bank account.
  • A store without policy pages or with unclear prices.
  • A vaguely described activity.
  • A name mismatch between the registration and the bank account.
  • Launching without a test transaction and refund.

How the connection works at ThreeU

From the dashboard you enable the gateway from the app marketplace through an official integration, the policy pages gateways require are in the template, and every payment attaches to its order, invoice and stock automatically, in the store and at the POS. ThreeU is not a payment gateway and takes no percentage; fees go to the gateway you choose. See the integrations page.

FAQ

How do I connect SADAD to my online store? Register as a SADAD merchant, enable the online gateway from the control panel (from QAR 99/month), connect it from your store platform or through a developer with merchant keys, and test a transaction before launch.

What are SADAD's fees? In person NAPS 1.1% and local cards 2.2% + QAR 0.5; online 2.5% with a QAR 2.5 minimum; gateway QAR 99 to 199 per month; payment links to Qatari numbers free.

Do I need a developer to connect a gateway? Not if your platform connects the gateway through an official marketplace integration; yes if your site is custom built.

How long does gateway activation take? Days to weeks depending on complete documents and a ready store.

Can I connect more than one gateway? Yes; some merchants use payment links from one gateway and another for the store, but settlement and reporting are simpler with one.
