QR Menu for Restaurants and Cafés in Qatar (2026): Published Prices, and Why a Standalone Menu Is a Mistake

*Last reviewed 20 October 2026. Prices come from vendors' advertisements and pages in Google results for Qatar on that date, with sources at the end.*

QR menus are now standard in Doha restaurants: the guest scans a code and sees the menu with photos and prices, no printing and no waiting. But most of what is sold in Qatar as a "QR menu" is a page disconnected from the restaurant: the order arrives over WhatsApp or not at all, the kitchen does not know, stock is not deducted, and a price change has to be made in two places. This guide lists the published prices of QR menu providers in Qatar, explains the difference between a menu that displays and a menu that sells, and how to choose.

The short answer

  • A standalone QR menu in Qatar starts at about QAR 75/month (Taqnia, advertising a 14-day trial and 24-hour go-live); others work on a WhatsApp-order model or free trials (FineDine, QO Menu, TableQR).
  • A menu connected to the POS means a guest's order from the table appears on the kitchen display, deducts stock and enters the invoice; at ThreeU the digital menu is part of the restaurant system from QAR 449/month with no extra subscription.
  • The real difference is not the code but where the order goes after the scan.
  • Ask every provider: does the order reach the kitchen? Is stock deducted? Can guests pay at the table? What are the online-order fees?

A menu that displays or a menu that sells?

The standalone menu: a web page with a QR code. Cheap and fast, but the order comes as a WhatsApp message the guest types, or does not come; the cashier re-enters it, the kitchen waits, stock does not move, and every price change is made twice. At peak, an employee becomes the bridge between WhatsApp and the till. The POS-connected menu: the guest scans, orders and modifies (no onions, large), pays at the table if you allow it; the order appears on the kitchen display with the table number, is deducted from stock and enters the day's invoices. Prices change once. Orders from WhatsApp, the ordering store and the apps land on the same screen. That is the difference between a display tool and an operating system; see restaurant management system in Qatar.

Questions before subscribing to any QR menu

1. Where does the order go: kitchen display or WhatsApp message? 2. Are stock and recipes deducted automatically? 3. Does it support ordering from the table, merging orders and splitting bills? 4. Can guests pay at the table through a Qatari gateway (SADAD, SkipCash, Tess), and at what fee? See payment gateway fees. 5. Is the menu bilingual with photos, sizes and add-ons? 6. Does the cashier keep working offline with open orders? 7. What does it cost after the trial, and is there a fee per online order?

A quick calculation for a small café

A standalone menu at QAR 75/month plus a cashier at QAR 299 plus a WhatsApp managed by an employee is about QAR 374 and three systems that do not talk. One platform at QAR 449 includes the menu, the cashier, the kitchen display, the ordering store and WhatsApp. The difference is QAR 75; the real difference is the orders that do not get lost at peak. The full cashier comparison is in best restaurant POS in Doha.

From the menu to delivery

The same menu becomes a branded ordering store for delivery and pickup with no commission, alongside the delivery apps. The arithmetic is in delivery apps vs your own ordering channel, and delivery with your own drivers in your own delivery app with live tracking.

Launching a QR menu in two days

1. Photograph the items with a phone in good light; see product photography with your phone. 2. Enter items with sizes, add-ons and prices once in the system. 3. Print the code on tables, the counter and delivery bags. 4. Run the kitchen display on any tablet. 5. Enable payment at the table through the Qatari gateway. 6. Review the best-selling items report after a week and adjust the menu.

FAQ

How much does a QR menu cost in Qatar? A standalone menu from about QAR 75/month per one Qatari provider's ad, and some platforms are free with WhatsApp ordering. A menu connected to the cashier and kitchen display is included in ThreeU from QAR 449.

How do I make a QR menu for my restaurant? Enter your items with photos and prices in the system, print the code and run the kitchen display. At ThreeU the same menu becomes an ordering store and a table-ordering channel.

Do QR menus take orders? Some only display, some send the order to WhatsApp, and POS-connected ones send it to the kitchen display and deduct stock. Ask where the order goes.

Does the guest need an app? No; the menu opens from the phone camera directly.

Can guests pay from the menu? Yes, through a connected Qatari gateway; fees go to the gateway.
